5 Ways To Beat The Lockdown Boredom

5 ways to beat the lockdown boredom

Finding new ways to entertain the kids (and yourself!) can seem like a challenge right now, so we’ve hand-picked our favourite activities that will bring back the fun to family life.

Movie Night with a Twist

Turn your standard movie night on its head and bring a bit of theatre to something you do each week. Think themed food, props, activities and DIY costumes of your favourite film characters and cartoons. Really make a day of it and make new memories, even in these tough times.  If someone in your household is a Frozen fan (and let’s face it, who isn’t!) then why not make your own Elsa inspired Light-up Jewellery or give the Glitter Globe a try.

Colour Therapy

Numerous studies have shown the positive effects colouring can have on a person, so lift your mood through mindfulness. You don’t need to be a budding artist, just experiment and see what you can create, there are no rules! Whether you want to make a dotty drawing, see awesome airbrush effects on paper or go totally rainbow, our range of arts and crafts colouring kits have something for everyone to enjoy.

Family Games Hour

Designate an evening each week to try out new family games and tabletop classics! Not got time for rules? Try quick play games like Grabolo, which require very little learning so you can start having fun straight away. If you want to bring the family even closer, try a cooperative such as Bank Attack, which requires you all to work together as a team to crack the vault and release the gold hidden inside!

Home learning with a difference

Mix up the home-schooling with our easy to follow and educational science sets! All of our science sets support the national curriculum and STEM learning. With fun themes and simple instructions, you can create exciting experiments worthy of the classroom in the comfort of your own home!

Family Bake Off

Get competitive in the kitchen and challenge your family to a bake off, with one person being the judge each week. If you have some spare chocolate in your cupboard, you could all have a go at making your own Chocolate Lollies and see who’s design wins the presentation award or the golden spoon!
